Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Overview

We are looking to add a full time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to our team for our urgent care practice in Hillsboro, TX. The office has great support staff, pleasant work environment, and an opportunity to make a difference in a private, non-corporate setting.

Responsibilities

Functioning in lieu of a physician, it is essential for practitioners to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary. The successful candidate will join a team in the evaluation, consultation, and treatment of patients in a preventive treatment setting. Responsibilities will include patient evaluation and consultation, diagnosing and prescribing medications, suturing, administering vaccines and ongoing patient care. Consults with physicians will be available as necessary regarding complex cases or uncertain diagnoses. Individual should also feel comfortable doing dry reads of x-rays, although every image will be officially overread.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school for NP or PA.
• 2+ years of experience in an urgent care or ER setting
• Current registration and licensure with Texas state boards.
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (all ages)
• Effective verbal and written communication skills essential
• Must be flexible, service oriented, and a team player.
