CBS Television Stations consists of 28 CBS-owned stations in 17 major U.S. markets, as well as the stations’ digital properties. The portfolio of stations includes 15 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates.

The station group’s properties also include CBSN Local, a joint initiative with CBS Interactive that features direct-to-consumer streaming news services in the markets where the Company has local news organizations. CBS Television Stations’ premium local content is also distributed to consumers by the group’s websites and mobile applications.

 

Description:
Overall supervision of the transmitter facilities, ENG microwave and 2-way radio sites at a top-10 market television station duopoly. Assistance with maintenance, repair, installation, and oper-ation of broadcast technical equipment and systems at the studio and remote facilities as need-ed. Also provide support for station operations in major station efforts or special projects.
Duties include:
• Supervision of routine and emergency maintenance and operation of high-power digital TV broadcast transmitters, monitoring, remote control and associated equipment at mul-tiple facilities.
• Checking broadcast signals and operation and keeping required records and files for compliance with FCC rules and regulations.
• Ordering parts, supplies, and tools as required for transmitters and associated equipment.
• Supervision of emergency generators at the studio and transmitter sites.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have a thorough knowledge of high-power broadcast television transmitters, transmission lines, antennas and IT systems. They should also be competent in using Microsoft Office products and have a good understanding of CAD software. Candidates should have a minimum of five years’ experience as a radio, television or cable systems maintenance engineer in a professional broadcast facility or closely related industry. Excellent oral and written com-munication skills are required. SBE certification is preferred.
