The HR Geo Services PT Supervisor is responsible for providing HR support to a single large hub facility. This role delivers the HR services that require close physical proximity to business operations. High level responsibilities may include management of employee concerns and complaints, inquiry management, implementation of local services and programs to reduce employee turnover, talent acquisition, select onboarding/offboarding activities, and on site learning facilitation.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Available (in locations with domiciled HR) for intake of employee relations concerns and inquires related to areas such as Performance, Learning, Talent, and Rewards 
  • Works with HR and business management to assist in the implementation of local recognition programs and other corporate engagement programs designed to reduce turnover, positively impact employee retention, and reinforce UPS corporate values
  • Participates and consults on Discipline Management concerns including determining decision on incidents, supporting with evidence and data gathering, and answering Manager inquiries
  • Assists, as needed, with local Talent Acquisition recruiting events (local colleges, universities, local community groups) as well as TA related to peak hiring
  • Assist with day-of logistics for on site learning including material production and facility preparation
  • Assists Operations with onboarding/offboarding activities as required (e.g., collecting and verifying employee documentation, facilitating day one employee experience programing, etc.)
  • Provides feedback and input for improvement of HR service delivery and programs as part of requests by the Shared Service Center Process/Service Management Team and COE, as requested
  • Provides support for Mobility (mostly domestic, sometimes cross-border) and Special Assignments including selection and assessment of candidates, relocation services, and management of end of assignment tasks
  • Consults business leaders and employees with regards to exit interviews, performance/calibration related conversations, rewards recognition, if requested by Business Manager/Supervisor
  • Communicates enterprise-wide policy decisions including posting of physical notices at UPS locations
  • Provides employees with physical copies of documents where required
  • Ensures effective communications between Geo Services HR and Operations as well as across the broader HR team

Knowledge and Skills

  • Requires solving of routine issues/problems, largely through precedent and referral to general guidelines
  • Ability to function as an individual contributor (part of a broader team), with predetermined, focused scope of work
  • High degree of integrity, confidence and self-awareness that appreciates, understands and effectively negotiates within and across other cultures
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Willing to do shift work
  • Bachelor’s Degree - Preferred
  • 2-3 years of previous experience in a customer facing role - Preferred
