Safety Supervisor

The Safeway Distribution Center has an opening for a Risk Control Supervisor located in Tracy, California.

 

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Execute safety-training programs
* Oversee and assist Safety Committees
* Coordinate programs to maintain compliance with Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies
* Compile and maintain safety standards and procedures documentation, communication to and coordination with appropriate operational areas.
* Evaluate, assess, and update current safety initiatives to maintain effectiveness
* Conduct department and facility safety audits
* Provide support and guidance to facility personnel to maintain a safe work environment
* Assist the Workers' Compensation, Liability Claims, and EHS sections in related risk management matters.
* Conduct new hire orientation
* Facilitating Powered Industrial Truck training programs. Electric Pallet and Forklift

 

Qualifications:
* 4 year college degree or equivalent experience
* Minimum 5-8 years' experience in accident prevention and risk control.
* Grocery industry/distribution experience desired.
* Strong working knowledge of all applicable statutes and regulations.
* Success in developing, implementing, and coordinating safety programs.
* Electric pallet jack / forklift experience required
* Strong management skills with experience in a supervisory role.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficient PC skills especially MS Office
* Bilingual (Spanish speaking) a plus
