Clinical Lab Asst PRN

Performs limited laboratory procedures, including processing specimens, waived –moderate testing, and instrument maintenance.  Performs a variety of venipuncture and skin puncture techniques involved in collection of blood specimens from patients for laboratory procedures used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
 

Minimum Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required and a phlebotomy course or prior phlebotomy training; phlebotomy certification preferred. 
 

Required Skills:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Completes On the Job (OTJ) training for CLA duties.

Typical Physical Demands: Typical Physical Demands: May require extended periods of standing or sitting. Some bending, stooping, or stretching is required. May require lifting and carrying 5-25 pounds. Requires full range of motion including eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges. Requires ability to communicate and interact with others in person and on the phone. Also requires high degree of mental alertness and the ability to handle a high degree of stress and/or irregular work hours. 

Minimum Work Experience:
30 successful venous collections preferred.
