The Westgate Center for Rehabilitation and Alzheimer's Care is looking for a reliable and dynamic Part-time Activities Assistant to join or team of professional care givers.

Who You Are:

What You Will Do:

Plans, organizes and directs recreational service programs designed to motivate, stimulate, restore abilities and improve the quality of life for all residents.

Works with residents at bedside with specially designed activities.

Assists with the transportation of residents to areas where programs are being conducted.

Assists with the documentation of resident participation and progress.

Assists with supply inventory, planning of purchases for the department and organization of the activity area.

Assists with resident supervision during outings.

Assists with writing, typing and/or assembling the monthly newsletter.

Writes notes in the resident's care plan and participates actively in resident care conferences.

What You Will Need:

Preferably a high school graduate or equivalent.

Certified Nursing Assistant consistent with the State Public Health Code. Registered in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Ability to read, write and comprehend English; ability to follow oral and written instructions

Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both

Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and facility staff in the performance of duties

Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position/assignment. On call as necessary

Minimum one year of education or experience in geriatric nursing or rehabilitation preferred
