Teacher of the Visually Impaired

We’re looking for an exceptional Teacher of the Visually Impaired for a full-time position in Vandercook Lake, MI who can start immediately and work through June 8th. The caseload is 4-6 students, all whom are totally blind, all in various stages of learning braille. The students are totally blind, grades K-11th grade, attending classes in general education buildings. Candidates must be proficient in braille instruction.

Job Requirements for Teacher of the Visually Impaired:

• Desire to bring life-giving excellence to school-aged children
• 1 year of verifiable, supervised professional experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired within the last 3 years (may include residency or clinical practicum)
• Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired license or credential in the state of practice, or ability to obtain one
• State School Services Credential where required
