Bridge Inspection Engineer - Terracon

Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG), a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a Bridge Inspection Engineer for a long-term engagement at one of our Global clients in New Haven, South Carolina.  This role is a full-time, fully benefitted position.   As a KellyOCG employee you will be eligible for Medical, Dental, 401K and a variety of other benefits to choose from.   You’ll also be eligible for paid time off, including holiday, vacation and sick/personal time.  All KellyOCG employees receive annual performance reviews. 

As a Bridge inspection Engineer you will be part of a Project team that uses strict standards and specifications to ensure a bridge is safe for public use. A bridge's deck, superstructure and substructure are evaluated.  You will take direction from the Project Manager.

Duties

  • As part of a team, evaluate bridge conditions to ensure public safety.
  • Make recommendations about necessary repairs.
  • Prepare daily inspection reports detailing structure condition and recommendations.
  • Coordinate work for Subcontracting Partners
  • Monitor work conducted by subcontractors
  • Write Purchase Orders and Contract Change Orders

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 10 to 15 years of experience overseeing highway & bridge construction projects.
  • PE preferred.
  • Very knowledgeable with reading and interpreting plan and specification sets
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating work with the contractor and reporting activities to owners
  • Understand and can work through changes of conditions – justify actual changes or not accept perceived change of conditions
  • Ability to write Contract Change orders
  • Familiar with Daily Inspection Reports, Quantity tracking, and materials tracking on site.
  • Strong scheduling skills to read and interpret Contractor P6 schedules.
