Mechanical Drafter - Full-time / Part-time

Summary:

Aerotek's client is seeking a Mechanical Drafter to join their team. This company, located in Baltimore, has been around for 120 years. The company has had many 20+ year drafters and is a leader in both domestic and international markets. They have remained strong all throughout during COVID, which is why they are looking to add to their team.

This position will involve:

• Mechanical Drafting
• AutoCAD 2D
• Mechanical Equipment
• Bill of Materials

Top Skills Details:

1) Mechanical familiarity - looking for a candidate who has familiarity with the drafting of mechanical equipment (electrical experience is a positive)

2) 2D - need to have a strong understanding of AutoCAD 2D and must be able to work within the software without training

Additional Skills:

AutoCAD, mechanical drafting, conceptual design, Mechanical design, Drafting, Cad, Blueprint, Sheet metal

Ideal Qualifications:

• Experience in AutoCAD 2D and machine design
• Four or more years of machine design experience
• Four or more years of AutoCAD 2D experience
• Proficiency in SolidWorks
• The client would like a candidate to hit the ground running while understanding there will be a lot of questions, as the machines are niche.
• Strong spatial understanding and mechanical layout of equipment.
• Ability to be interactive with engineers and willing to give-and-receive feedback.

Work Environment:

This employee will be working within a team of six and spending an equal amount of time working with a colleague or two while also spending time working independently. The environment is a lot of go-go with quick turnarounds and quick deadlines. The days are busy, but the employees love to catch up at happy hours and other fun activities!
