MOUNTAINLAND TECHNICAL COLLEGE
Invites applications for the position of:
Custodian
Hours: M-F 5:30-10:00 p.m.
Location: 2301 W. Ashton Blvd Lehi, Utah 84043
Status: Part-Time/ Non-Exempt
Wage: $12.27/hr
Essential Functions:
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, dusts and vacuums hallways, stairs, classrooms, restrooms and office spaces
- Cleans and sanitizes bathroom fixtures, mirrors, light switches, door jambs and drinking fountains
- Cleans whiteboards and windows
- Empties trash and garbage containers
- Maintains all areas of the building, this includes offices, classrooms, labs, conference rooms, dining room, serving areas, halls, stairs, elevators, entryways and lobbies. Assignment may vary depending on campus. Performs minor and routine maintenance activities in these locations.
- Maintains all types of floor, fabric and upholstery surfaces
- Read, understand, and follow safety procedures
- Implements the safe and proper handling of blood and body fluid cleanup
- Implements the safe use and disposal of all chemicals and products, including those that are hazardous; maintains SDS records for all supplies
- Responsible for securing doors and windows in all areas and buildings
- Alerts Custodial Lead to necessary routine repairs and major repairs or additions to lighting, heating and ventilating equipment;
Competencies:
- Knowledge of training in the proper use and disposal of hazardous chemicals and products
- Knowledge of body fluid cleanup and proper protection.
- Ability to perform skilled custodial duties, equipment maintenance, and minor plumbing
- Knowledge of waxes/polishes, acids, other chemicals, buffers, extractors, vacuums and scrubbers
- Knowledge of current cleaning techniques and proper cleaning chemicals
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports. Ability to speak effectively with customers and/or employees.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and minimum of six months related experience.
