Becoming a patient care technician is a great choice for anyone that wants to have a steady career, and advancement possibilities for the future. The need for PCTs runs throughout our hospital, so we have many specialty and departments to choose from. For this position, we would like for you to consider our newly remodeled ICU.
What you will do:
The Intensive Care Unit is a 24-bed inpatient unit located on the 3rd floor of the South Tower that provides 24/7 comprehensive care to patients recovering from surgery, trauma and acute illnesses. The unit offers continuous monitoring of patients during their recovery period.
As a Patient Care Tech, you not only impact the lives of the patients who you touch, but you have an impact on the patient’s entire family! You will perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.
Responsibilities:
Aids with entry and exit of patients
Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living
Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff
Documents necessary records
Responsible for keeping patient rooms clean and orderly as well as maintaining medical equipment

Required Qualification(s):
High school diploma or GED required
BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
Preferred Qualification(s):
1 year Patient Care Tech/CNA/EMT experience
Certified Nursing Assistant license
Knowledge and Skills
Able to professionally communicate
Ability to maintain professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail
