GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
This position is an entry level position and is responsible for supporting the general accounting needs of the
company. Primary responsibilities include recording and monitoring of business transactions, maintaining
accurate fixed asset records, and preparation of information used in preparing sales tax returns and
governmental reports. Completing special projects as assigned and demonstrates the ability to grow into a role
of increasing responsibility is expected.

- There could be additional project work if the person has time to do so and is up for it.
- Being a smaller company, there isn't a ton of upward mobility

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required. Must have an aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent problem solving, prioritization and organizational skills are essential. Must have strong interpersonal
skills, a positive attitude and be highly motivated. Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite
Products and computerized accounting systems are necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1) Prepares general ledger journal entries and maintains documentation of business transactions that
support these entries. Items of responsibility include but are not limited to: amortization of prepaid
expenses; recording monthly depreciation; and amortization of goodwill.
2) Reconciles general ledger account balances with documented business transactions at month end and
makes reconciliations available to appropriate manager(s) for their approval.
3) Maintains company fixed asset and depreciation systems, policies and procedures. Records fixed asset
acquisitions and disposals in a timely way. Summarizes records on an annual basis for income and
property tax purposes.
4) Works with R&D personnel to ensure that all information submitted for calculation of the annual R&D
tax credit is accurate, and supporting documentation is complete and verifiable.
5) Tracks warranty activity and prepares necessary reporting and journal entries.
6) Prepares information for monthly sales and use tax returns.
7) Maintains records of sales by state, including machine sales, parts sales and service revenue.
8) Collaborates with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable by participating in both processes for the
purpose of maintaining proper segregation of duties and provides assistance as needed.
9) Prepares monthly analysis of actual vs budgeted headcount by function.
10) Visibly supports "lean" and other process improvement activities. Participates in rapid improvement events. Applies continuous improvement practices to one's job. Supports transition activities, as required. Maintains an open mind throughout the change process. Works with others to continuously fuel improvement throughout the Company.
11) Contributes to CMD's core competencies of Market Intelligence and Product Development by gathering and reporting all relevant information. This includes competitive information.
12) Responsible for own safety. Practices only safe work habits and ensures all safety rules are followed.
13) Responsible to keep area clean and organized to ensure safe working conditions.
