POSITION SUMMARY: The Oncology Nutritionist/Clinical Dietitian is responsible for providing evidence-based nutrition care and education to oncology/hematology patients as well as staff and physicians. Nutrition care activities for patients in active treatment or those receiving post-treatment monitoring or maintenance therapies include conducting nutritional assessments, plan of care development and monitoring response to nutrition care. Education activities include providing nutrition education to patients, developing educational programs for community outreach purposes as well as for clinic staff and physicians, and researching nutrition related topics to assist in patient care. Additional responsibilities include care coordination and provision of oncology expertise and recommendations to community physicians and the interdisciplinary team (physicians, nurses, pharmacists, home health/home infusion and rehabilitation staff). Work situations require a service oriented individual, oncology nutrition expertise, the interpretation of information from a variety of sources, and the ability to make complex patient-care decisions. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 2-3 years experience including nutrition support management in an acute care/hospital practice setting preferred Outpatient medical nutrition therapy experience preferred EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Bachelor s Degree in dietetics, nutrition, or foods and nutrition; Masters preferred Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (Academay of Nutrition and Dietetics) Certified in the state of Washington within 90 days of hire Board Certification in Oncology preferred or to be obtained within 2 years of hire Certified in Basic Life Support MultiCare is an equal opportunity employer.
