About this job

PerkinElmer is looking for a Technology and Science Content Writer to join our Creative + Content team to enrich our marketing with blog posts, eBooks, and general marketing copy.
Content Writer responsibilities include conducting thorough research on industry-related topics, creating blogs from our deep quiver of Application Notes, as well as story ideation with marketing peers for new content. Stories we never thought of! You will also work aside our Copywriters, helping to hone a mosaic of outbound communications.
We do NOT need you to be a science genius: we already have plenty of those. What we DO need you to be is a writing genius: someone to find the engaging narratives buried within our existing science-laden text.
If you’re familiar with producing online content and have an eye for detail, we’d like to meet you. We do need you to share samples of your work or portfolio of your published articles, along with your application.
Ultimately, you’ll deliver quality writing pieces that appeal to our global audiences, attract customers and boost brand awareness.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct simple keyword research and use SEO guidelines to increase web traffic
  • Coordinate with marketing and design teams to illustrate articles
  • Create content for social media and email campaigns
  • Ensure all-around consistency
  • Identify customers’ needs and gaps in our content and recommend new topics
  • Interact with global PerkinElmer peers
  • Prepare well-structured drafts using our Workfront system
  • Proofread and edit
  • Research industry-related topics (combining online sources, interviews and studies)
  • Submit work to business units for input and approval
  • Update website content as needed

    Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2-5 years in b2b content marketing writing.
  • Must have a Portfolio of published articles to provide.

    Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in technology and science-based topics.
  • Customer-focused, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic team player.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with a team.
