The TPM/CI Lead is an hourly position that reports to the Technical Leader. This person is responsible for leading the planning, development and execution of Total Productive Maintenance and Continuous Improvement at the site. The role is fundamental in championing and leading safety, quality and productivity improvements through the application of TPM and loss elimination initiatives. Success will be measured by the ability to actively engage the manufacturing sites to achieve targeted business goals. The TPM/CI Lead trends and educates floor personnel on the importance of their engagement toward continuous improvement efforts and using LEAN Tools and shares best practices.

TPM Engagement of the Summit Plant
Continuous improvement of OC TPM Audit/Assessment Scores
Progressing in and achieving zero loss
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support all TPM Pillars
- Create a TPM culture
- Attends all TPM meetings, works with leaders to advance team capabilities in problem solving, critical thinking, and analysis of issues to root cause solutions
- Leads Kaizen Events, TPM training sessions, and meetings as needed
- Assist Shift Leaders and others in the plant on using Lean Tools to drive Problem Solving
- Develop site A-3’s with assistance from Regional CI Leader as needed
- Understand KPIs and KAIs, analyze data and update activity board
- Lead FAI reporting, Process spec development, Statistical process control and Project & trial support.
- Champion LPA Process
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
This is a “Special Skills” position
The employee should hold the following abilities:
- Able to effectively read and communicate (oral and written), in English
- Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work independently or as part of a functional team
- Attention to detail is a critical skill requirement
- Must possess strong communication, organization skills and work ethic
- Ability to drive problem solving and TPM techniques
COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES
The employee must be able to:
- Operate a computer (laptop, desktop or tablet) or other keyboard instruments
- Intermediate computer literacy is a required skill – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and databases. A large portion of this role involves written/computer-based communications
- Learn and operate Minitab, SAP, POP, PowerBI & Aspen Tech systems
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
The employee should have the following:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
- 5-7 years in industrial manufacturing
- 3-5 years leading continuous improvement projects
- Current/prior strong involvement with TPM teams
- Must be able to learn the tasks and responsibilities of this position
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee should possess the ability to:
- Ability to stand for 8 hours straight
- Ability to travel 10% of the time
- Perform fine motor skills such as typing and writing for 8 hours straight
- Able to climb and descend stairs or ladders; work at elevated heights
- Lifting, carrying/moving up to 50lbs
- Must be able to squat, bend at the waist, and knees freely
- Exposure to hot/cold temperatures on a regular basis
- Exposure to continuous noise and able to wear hearing protection
- Bending, twisting, and repetitive movements
- Working in and around fiberglass mat and asphalt fumes continuously without irritation
