Quality Control Scientist II

Join our team in Milwaukee, WI. We are expanding this site to provide R&D, manufacturing and operations support for catalog and custom TheraPure components.

Biosciences Division / Milwaukee, WI
2nd Shift Hours: M-F 2:00PM – 10:30PM


How will you make an impact?

The Quality Control Scientist II is responsible for performing and interpreting analytical assays related to manufactured product, raw materials and other samples in QC lab in accordance with the quality and departmental procedures, following all applicable safety and regulatory requirements.

What will you do?

  • Perform assays (e.g., KF, UV-Vis, HPLC, NMR, etc.) of manufactured product and raw materials following standard procedures and maintain records according to ISO and/or other applicable standard
  • Evaluate need for improvement in documentation, and implement improvement, when needed
  • Maintaining laboratories, supplies, and lab equipment according to procedure. In addition, ensure equipment is calibrated and repaired as required
  • Provide training for less experienced associates and act as role model in implementation and improvement of standard safety practices/procedures
  • Remain technically competent by keeping current with developments within industry and Provide technical expertise to interdepartmental and project teams.
  • Assist with development of new processes and analytical method development
  • Support and actively participates in the continuous improvement processes.
  • Perform product stability testing, prepare and maintain stability records
  • Perform laboratory investigations. Execute experiments to troubleshoot assays, resolve customer complaints and confirm out of specification results.
  • Other duties apparent or assigned.
How will you get here?
Education:
  • BS in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related science.
Experience / Skills:
  • 1-5 years of laboratory experience in industry. Advance degree considered in lieu of experience. QC experience preferred.
  • Understanding of analytical principles, theory and operation of various analytical instruments and techniques (HPLC, NMR)
  • Ability to verbally communicate, read and write in English
  • Ability to read, follow, and write work instructions. Ability to convey pertinent written and verbal information
  • Ability in the use of electronic systems (e.g., computer) and MS office (Word, Excel) knowledge
  • Good written communication skills, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to regularly handle chemicals, solvents, and potentially hazardous substances
Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stoop, stand, bend, kneel, crouch and crawl. Also use hands to finger, handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools, and controls
