About this job

  • Participate in Departmental leadership meetings with the Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Physician & Medical Services.
  • Participate in the development and recommendation of all medical policies.
  • Participate in all hiring of physicians and nurse practitioners for Region with the Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Physician & Medical Services.
  • Participate in Administration meetings.
  • Co-lead physician/nurse practitioner’s staff meetings in Region.
  • Participate in nursing meetings as needed.
  • Participate in any personnel issues with medical staff in coordination with the Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Physician & Medical Services.
  • Conduct medication reviews and chart audits as necessary.
  • Lead Regional peer review process.

Most meetings can be attended using video and/or phone conferencing, however some meetings may require travel to other site locations.

Qualifications

Must possess a degree as a Physician and be licensed to practice Psychiatry in Missouri (board eligible or certified) or be eligible for licensure in Missouri by the date of employment; responsible to maintain an active Missouri license during employment. Must have completed residency in adult psychiatry or a fellowship in child psychiatry.

In addition, for Burrell’s Arkansas Region, must also be licensed to practice Psychiatry in Arkansas (board eligible or certified) or be eligible for licensure in Arkansas by the date of employment; responsible to maintain an active Arkansas license during employment.

Must possess (or be able to obtain prior to employment start date) Missouri State license as a Physician to include the required certificates to administer medication (DEA#, BNDD); responsible for actively maintaining these certificates to ensure there is no lapse in certification.
