Oracle Sr/Principal Full Stack Software Engineer- DevOPS in Austin , Texas

Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Principal Full Stack Software Engineer/DevOps

We are enabling life science and healthcare organizations with tools to optimize, gain insights, and help transform operations spanning from clinical R&D to care delivery.

We are seeking a Senior/Principal Engineer to work on applications that are deployed in Oracle Cloud and used to track the doctors, patients, their symptoms, medication, impact of medications, labs and vendors. These applications are used by doctors, hospitals, labs and pharmaceuticals.

As a senior engineer of the team, you will own the software design and development for major components and features. You should be both solid coder and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low level systems. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering team, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical expertise to the teams. Design and implement changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Provide the CI/CD model to deploy and configure the production and non-prod system

Write automation scripts for provisioning, deployment, monitoring, DR failover and other tasks.

Troubleshoot complex production issues, including performance and function issues

Provide outage troubleshooting for systems and backend service

Identifying and implementing application/service level monitoring and alerting, working with engineers where instrumentation is required

Qualifications:

8 years experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.

Generalist/Full stack developers and oracle technologies expertise

Strong knowledge of Java and experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc.

Strong DevOPS background with a strong background in driving CI/CD and automation to modern techniques and practices

Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.

Working familiarity with file system protocols (NFS v3/v4, SMB, iSCSI) networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.

Strong understanding of file systems, databases, storage, identity and distributed persistence technologies.

Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.

Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure a strong plus

Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services.

Experience delivering and operating cloud software for highly distributed business software in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) as well as AWS, Azure, or GCP compute.

Experience in working on 24x7 customer facing cloud applications.
