POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director, Marketing-ENHANZE will develop and implement long-term marketing strategies and tactics that result in profitable growth of the ENHANZE drug delivery technology through current, as well as, new and expanding partnerships. This includes developing an ENHANZE marketing plan, moving potential customers through the “buyer journey”, refreshing and customizing messages and marketing materials by customer type, monitoring the competitive landscape, implementing a conference/congress plan and supporting key strategic initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

These may include but are not limited to:

  • Develop marketing plan for the ENHANZE franchise
  • Develop and implement strategies and tactics that drive awareness of the ENHANZE drug delivery technology with varying customers (R&D, Pharma Development, Commercial and Business Development) at current and potential partners and lead to new development programs
  • Customize messaging to each customer segment while aligning to core marketing communications platform
  • Develop a strong value proposition for ENHANZE
  • Develop health economics story to demonstrate the value of subcutaneous drug delivery 
  • Develop plan to drive policy changes in support of subcutaneous drug delivery
  • Lead and support key strategic initiatives, i.e. device strategy
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and develop strategies to address new competitors
  • Partner with Clinical/Medical Affairs to develop a publication strategy, congress/conference strategy and develop KOL’s
  • Identify and manage agency (ies) to support marketing activities including the creation of marketing materials and case studies to support awareness of the ENHANZE platform and its benefits
  • Develop metrics to monitor progress of digital marketing activities

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • BS degree in a technical or related discipline is required with a minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in a Biotechnology or related industry is required (an equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered)
  • Strong pharmaceutical marketing and product management background, with experience in multiple therapeutic areas and knowledge of the commercial environment in which company products are marketed and sold 
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical marketplace, the FDA regulatory process, payor/provider agencies, and the pharmaceutical supply chain 
  • Marketing and commercial planning experience within the US market is required with OUS experience preferred
  • Current high-level management oversight of market research, competitive analysis, and strategic product planning functions
  • Direct product management experience of pharmaceuticals through the various phases of clinical development is required 
  • Strong understanding of product development and some knowledge of technology and technology licensing 
  • Experience working across functional areas, including R&D, finance, legal and business development
  • An advanced degree (MBA, PhD, MD, MS, and/or Pharm D) strongly preferred

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Equipment: PC, scanners, facsimile machine, voice mail and e-mail systems, and common office machines, or ability to be trained.

Software Knowledge: Windows, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Knowledge of other software required: Windows, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Internally: Works cross functionally within all of Finance, and Senior Management.
  • Externally: Develops and maintains relationships with associations and KOL’s. Manages all relationships and agreements with commercial consultants, agencies and vendors for the brand.

EFFORT REQUIRED/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting to 20 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and responsibilities of this job. Laboratory Activities, if applicable: Biology and chemical laboratory environments experience needed. Environmental health and safety requirements also apply.
