As part of Carrier Digital transformation, we are looking for a motivated senior AWS Engineer within the Global Cloud Services Division. This role will participate in building the Cloud Engineering Center of Excellence and design the future Carrier Cloud environment on AWS. The person will be a key contributor to Carrier's transformation to public cloud. Immediate responsibilities include designing a viable cloud landing zone to support a large-scale migration. Additionally, working closely with Architecture COE to assist with the creation of reference architecture. This role is to work closely with the application engineering teams to provide cloud-based solutions that accelerate the current monolith architecture to newer containerized micro-services based architecture on open source technology residing on AWS. This role will be responsible for hands on work as a Cloud Expert to guide others and build him/herself the solutions required to modernize a scalable, elastic and resilient cloud based engineering solution with the highest emphasis on security. - Job Description Job Description This is a hands on role with a tilt towards engineering and building the right solutions on AWS using the target tech stack that could comprise of Java, Spring Boot, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Micro-services, RESTful API, Kafka, Spring Data, Angular 2+, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Docker - to name a few.

You will
Build, lead, and manage multiple cloud based engineering solutions
Identify needs across the organization to build reusable platforms
Integrate multiple puzzle pieces to build an end to end solution

Re-engineer existing applications into AWS environments
Break existing monolithic applications into micro service architectures, build new micro-services, use open source tech-stack, containerize with Docker and engineer HA systems

Partner with architects, product owners, and software engineers to drive the implementation of new applications
Work within and across teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack development tools and technologies.
Conduct design and code review to ensure compliance with standards
Ensure a strong focus on cyber security and work closely with the Carrier Cybersecurity team to implement all required technology, systems, processes and controls
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in software engineering or equivalent work experience - Masters in software engineering is preferred.
4 - 5+ years' experience in software development with at least 3 years in full stack development teams
At least 2 - 5+ years' experience on AWS.
Subject matter expert on Amazon Web Services cloud components, including Compute, Network and Storage (IaaS and PaaS) and services
Knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud architecture and services
Strong experience in Virtual Machine migrations, tools and cost optimization techniques
Strong experience in formal architecture and design methodologies on public Cloud
Subject matter expert in Cybersecurity
Able to quickly grasp and understand megatrends and new technology and how it can benefit Carrier Digital
Strong knowledge of DevOps processes and tools in the cloud
Experience in transforming legacy on premise architecture into modernized cloud-based solutions including utilizing micro-services, containerization
Experience in Cloud automation including Infrastructure as Code and Power Shell
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a large, complex organization
Work independently as well as in a team environment
