Grain Elevator Operators will be cross trained to perform a variety of tasks with potential advancement
opportunities for the right candidate.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma /GED, 12 months related experience/training OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • You must have reliable transportation to be available for work including infrequent and extended overtime
  • Experience with agriculture and farm equipment and mechanical aptitude is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Receiving, storage, handling, drying, blending, and loading of grain
  • Assist in the unloading and loading of grain commodities by both rail and truck
  • Weigh or measure materials and products
  • Clean and maintain equipment, machinery, and work stations
  • Observe conveyor operations and monitor lights, dials, and gauges
  • Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions
  • Inform supervisors of equipment malfunctions that need to be addressed
  • Load trucks, train hoppers, train cars, containers
  • Perform or assist in routine maintenance and repairs
  • Maintain your work areas and United Quality Cooperative's facilities properly
  • Provide courteous and responsive customer service


Physical Demands and Requirements
This job can be physically strenuous from time to time. You will be expected to:

work in tight and confined spaces, walk, climb, bend and kneel easily

lift, grip, grasp, push and pull various tools and equipment of 50lb or more

ride a belt man lift, ascend/descend ladders, and occasionally work at significant heights, with requisite balance and equilibrium.

have vision that permits close proximity, distance, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

identify and distinguish colors for grading grain

detect odors and understand/discern safety warning systems

wear personal protective equipment - hardhats, gloves, safety glasses, respiratory protection and ear protection as appropriate

read and comprehend operational and safety instructions, both in written and oral form

communicate clearly with your co-workers and supervisors

Working Environment
This is a physical job that includes both indoor and outdoor work in all types of weather and temperature environments. You may be required to work at high
heights and in confined spaces. It may be noisy and dusty at times. All employees shall be subject to drug testing and background checks.
