Navy Junior Surface Warfare Officer Job Description Strategic Insight, Ltd. is seeking aUS Navy Surface Warfare officer to assist our US Navy client provide critical fleet planning support to ensure surface ships meet all current and future mission requirements. The job is in S.E., Washington, D.C. The overall project team is responsible for maintenance and modernization planning, budgeting, scheduling, and tracking for United States Navy ships. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide technical, operational, and programmatic planning support to our US Navy client. Provide strategic analysis and acquisition planning, to aid in developing plans and processes for managing and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of Maintenance and Modernization planning, budgeting, scheduling, and tracking for United States Navy ships. Utilize the war room planning process and environment to assess planning, budgeting, scheduling, and tracking for the maintenance and modernization of the US Navy fleet. Assist the war room administrator in the development of the war room collaboratively with the government. Success for working in this position requires: A broad knowledge of Surface Ship operations required. Solid understanding of the Navy at-large – both operations and administration. Strong problem solving and strategic planning skills. High degree of attention to detail and accuracy in completing assignments, including, proof reading, grammar, and analytical skills. Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel), to include the ability to create spreadsheets, presentations, and prepare specialized reports. Ability to effectively communicate and work with others at all levels, as a team member. Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information. Self-starter, goal-oriented individual who provides timely feedback on progress made on assignments. Excellent organizational skills;and, ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks, handle complex assignments, and work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree. 2-4 years of related specialized Navyexperience required. Surface Warfare Officer specialty qualification required. Mandatory Requirement: Applicants selected for this position may be subject to a Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret clearance level. Can start with Interim Secret clearance. Mandatory Requirement: Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility for a government security clearance at the Secret level.
