Competitive salary (depending on experience) Comprehensive benefits package Job Details Maintains knowledge and stays current on state and federal laws, rules, regulations and regulatory guidelines affecting the financial services industry. Performs regulatory compliance research, analysis and interpretation; consults with legal counsel, regulatory agencies and bank trade associations and makes recommendations to management. Develops, implements and maintains a robust Compliance Management System and current library of compliance resources. The CMS includes oversight of regulatory change management, compliance training, policy management, consumer complaint management and compliance self-testing reviews, reporting and remediation. Plans, organizes and directs the activities of the Compliance department and directly supervises a team of employee(s), providing leadership, guidance and growth opportunities. Sets department and staff goals, clearly communicates performance expectations, monitors performance and progress to guide continuous improvement, and directs the workflow of the department to assure standards are met. Develops, maintains and reviews bank policies, procedures, disclosures, agreements, forms and marketing materials for compliance with applicable federal and state laws, rules and regulations. Reviews system-programming changes which affect compliance and provide comment as to whether the requested programming changes comply with applicable regulation. Participates in new product/service, branch and project development, providing input regarding compliance concerns. Collaborates with department leaders, senior management and the Board to maintain an ongoing enterprise risk assessment of compliance risks posed to the bank and its business strategies. Oversees the development and maintenance of various compliance and regulatory risk assessments. Prepares compliance metric reporting, identifies potential weaknesses, escalates risk or compliance concerns and makes recommendations to management and the board as appropriate. Demonstrates a solid understanding of the Bank’s strategy and operations; makes recommendations and policies consistent with the Bank’s strategy and operations. Stays current with best practices and legal regulations within the profession; shares expertise in a timely and helpful manner; demonstrates appropriate discretion; keeps confidential information private. Works with regulators to respond to their requests for compliance-related information. Understands laws and regulations and their application to the Bank’s activities ; works with others in the Bank to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations; consistently provides accurate regulatory interpretation and guidance to management and staff. Conducts appropriate risk assessment activities and plans compliance activities accordingly; identifies compliance deficiencies, escalates as appropriate, and ensures corrective actions are effectively implemented. Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
