CTG is seeking a GIS Technical Architect for our global client located in RTP, NC! The function of the GIS Technical Architect is to provide technical expertise in the use of geospatial systems and/or databases, architecture and integration with enterprise systems. Evaluate, validate, and establish enterprise system and database requirements and design architecture to include software, infrastructure, data model and management, and support total requirements and interfaces. This is an opportunity to make an impact in a research organization that is dependent on spatial data and be a pioneer in the use of enterprise GIS for research informatics and agriculture. Essential Functions: Contribute to the design, prototyping and build of shared GIS infrastructure assets and services Execute sanctioned GIS project work for the client's business Work with business users and SME’s to understand relevant business domains in order to build effective data models and automated data processes Act as technical GIS lead to external partners for collaborative projects Define technical standards and procedure for productive GIS system operations Build GIS data integration and automation processes and solutions Assist in design, build out, testing, deployment and documentation of GIS applications and services Support data publishing tasks and ETL workflows Competencies and Skills: A passion for working with teammates and customers to solve problems Excellent communication skills Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines Knowledge of geospatial systems and databases Knowledge of Opensource GIS Software Solutions Proficient in PostgreSQL and SQL Server database development and use Proficient in Python scripting DBA Experience Experience Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Geography/GIS, Engineering, Business or other related field (Additional experience can be substituted for education) 5+ years of experience and demonstrated capability architecting geospatially-enabled systems and/or databases (Additional education can be substituted for years of experience) Demonstrated ability to design enterprise architectures that integrate with existing databases and/or systems CTG (NASDAQ: CTG) has developed a reputation for responsiveness and reliability - traits that our clients say set us apart - since our founding in 1966.
