You’ll manage a team of engineers, execute software development projects, and facilitate the improvement of team processes. You’ll be successful because you seek ways to bring out the best in your team while developing software that delights our customers.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a large team of software engineers in the evolution of NRDB, New Relic's purpose-built database technology
  • Ensure the success of software projects through the planning and execution phases within and across teams
  • Mentor and develop your team by holding regular coaching and career conversations
  • Provide growth opportunities for engineers by identifying projects tailored skill level and interests
  • Develop and iterate on processes and practices that keep your team executing efficiently

Your Qualifications

Must-have:

  • 3+ years of experience leading high-performing software engineering teams
  • Working experience with machine-scale data and distributed data systems
  • Proven track record of delivering improvements to complex software systems in regular, iterative releases
  • Ability to collaborate within your own and across departments
  • Experience mentoring and coaching team members

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with contemporary people management practices
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience with cloud migrations
