Director, Commercial Partnerships - Flights

 The Position

KAYAK is seeking a highly-motivated Director of Commercial Partnerships to help drive commercial activities in North America; building and maintaining business relationships with our distribution partners in flights. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of consumer behavior, superior analytical skills and the ability to effectively communicate with KAYAK’s engineering, design, and business teams. Candidates must be self-starters and able to thrive in an agile, fast-paced and data-driven environment. Location

This position will be based in Cambridge, Massachusetts or Stamford, Connecticut.

Responsibilities 

Lead and mentor the Flights team

Build, manage and maintain a portfolio of partners to increase both distribution and advertising revenues

Leverage data to optimize partner performance, drive revenue and improve the user experience

Liaise with engineering and product teams to identify, escalate, and resolve technical issues and opportunities from provider-meta connectivity

Develop strong relationships and work cross-functionally with the KAYAK commercial, product, marketing and engineering teams

Measure product performance using business and user metrics, establish relevant reports

Monitor P&L performance to uncover opportunities and develop strategy forward

Monitor the competitive landscape of travel search sites, identify KAYAK weaknesses, formulate/execute a plan to close the gap

Requirements/Qualifications

At least seven years of sales, business development and/or partner management experience; management consulting and/or investment banking experience a plus

Previous e-marketing experience desired, including an understanding of performance metrics

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to investigate issues and provide creative solutions

Ability to manage complex, multi-faceted relationships

Proven track record of exceeding expectations through superior execution and project management

Ability to develop new ideas and work cross-functionally with stakeholders to see projects through to completion

Excellent negotiator and target driven

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must with experience presenting to internal and external stakeholders

Self-starter with the ability to work independently

Proven leader that can effectively coach and lead a team by example

Ability to manage projects of varying size and scope simultaneously, while prioritizing appropriately

Good sense of humour and likes working in an unstructured, fast-paced environment

Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint
