Job Description

QC Laboratories, Inc. is a privately owned industrial and commercial non-destructive testing laboratory (NDT), incorporated in the State of Florida in 1965 with branches in Hollywood and Orlando, Florida and Cincinnati, Ohio. QC Laboratories expertise is in providing all disciplines of non-destructive testing services for aircraft, aerospace, marine and construction materials.

We are seeking a career-minded individual for the position of General Manager, preferably someone who is looking for long-term growth and potential. In addition to the job description below, candidates must possess strong customer service skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to multi-task at a quick pace. Being a team player is a must!

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide technical guidance, assistance, and mentoring to NDT personnel

Assist with training and testing NDT personnel for certifications, as appropriate

Assist in scheduling personnel to meet inspection schedules and manage personnel to meet established budgets

Establish and manage NDT performance metrics to facilitate continuous improvement activities

Drive technology improvements in NDT with new equipment and processes, including equipment procurement justified with return of investment (ROI) cost savings

Maintain compliance with Quality Management System policies, procedures, and processes to ensure the performance and quality of products conform to established standards, specifications and agency guidelines

Maintains close interaction with third-party suppliers, external laboratories, and customers

Receives and analyses scope and specifications for works and services to be contracted, clarifies work aspects and verifies technical evaluation criteria

Ensure NDT inspections and internal audits are conducted on a continual basis to enforce requirements and meet specifications

Assist in scheduling and managing performance of radiation safety audits; support Radiation Safety Program, as necessary

Perform NDT inspections, if necessary

Maintain and achieve NDT certifications, as appropriate

Lead a multi-disciplinary filed services team

Assist in other tasks as required

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be a highly motivated self-starter that can identify potential problems and collaborate with management to take action

Must possess willingness to assist where needed to ensure the company meets its goals and objectives on time

Must possess time management skills

Willing to learn and apply new skills

Good written and oral communication skills

Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively

Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional groups

Self-motivated, able to multi-task, and detail oriented

Strong organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills

Background checks and Drug Screenings will be completed on all candidates considered for hire.

REQUIREMENTS:

Non-Destructive Testing experience required

5+ years of experience with Non-Destructive Testing field

5+ years of managerial experience

5+ years of experience in inspection and certification

Mechanical Engineering degree or any other related field

Must be able to learn procedures quickly and be a team player

Easily adapt to new organizations / technical environments

Project management on small to medium projects

Must be able to perform a variety of routine tasks and demonstrate a good working knowledge of equipment, procedures and working with common hand tools

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Frequently required to sit, walk, or stand

Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read

technical information, and/or use a keyboard

Frequently required to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds

Work on Specialized equipment
