Open Position: Director of Information Technology

Responsiblefor planning, selecting and implementing all technology services for employeesand departments. Responsible for computer support services, softwaredevelopment, database management, cemetery-wide telecommunications services,long-range technology planning, process redesign, quality assurance andtechnology standards. Responsible for managing the installation, maintenanceand troubleshooting of the audio visual (AV) systems. Responsible for oversight of the GeographicInformation System (GIS) department and provides guidance on the direction ofthe Cemetery’s GIS environment. Educatesin-house staff regarding technology changes, standards and usage of AV systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide and support computer hardware, softwareand telecommunications systems.

Hire, train and supervise one informationtechnology staff member. Train co-workers to provide backup coverage.

Supervise the GIS Specialist in thedevelopment of the newly formed GIS department and to promote a GIS resource ofthe highest data standard and integrity for all cemetery departments,collaborating with other institutions and the general public.

Provide technical support and consultationto users, analyze hardware and software, and perform advanced diagnostics andresearch.

Managecomplex projects including the installation of telecommunication systems and internetservice, records management assessment and inventory, and on-going applicationdevelopment.

Ensure integrity of Cemetery’s data throughsystem recovery planning and secure networking.

Establish standards for computer softwareand hardware, business systems, telecommunications and radios.

Develop, maintain, and enforce informationtechnology standards, policies, and procedures.

Maintain IT policy documents andinformation security program.

Maintain compliance with ISO 27002Standard, PCI DSS and state regulations.

Coordinate with other supervisors and managementon IT needs.

Coordinate and/or deliver IT functions Including:

* Install approved hardware and software

*Install and maintain patch status of operating systems, anti-virus and business systems

*Install and maintain all printers, plotters and scanners

*Perform database upgrades and backups

*Administer user accounts for staff and volunteers

*Expand and maintain campus network, firewalls, VLAN, VPN and VMware

Coordinate and/or deliver training for computerand telephone users.

Provide and maintain company webinfrastructure.

Maintain ‘help desk’ systems and servicesfor staff and volunteers, inventory and repair history for computer hardwareand software.

Direct short and long-range planning fortechnology and information systems.

Prepare and administer the technologybudget.

Maintain knowledge of current developmentsin the technology field and research products.

Available to address critical IT issuesoccasionally during non-business hours.

Manage the installation, maintenance andtroubleshooting of the audio visual (AV) systems.

Train users on the usage of the AV systems.

Carries out special projects for theExecutive Vice President & CFO as requested.

As with all Cemetery staff, assist with any cemetery business including special meetings, conferences, Friends events and public programs as needed.

Demonstrateresponsible stewardship for the environment when planning and implementing allduties incorporated in job description.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors in a technical field of study(Computer Science, Information Technology) required or equivalent experience. Masters in Computer Science preferred.

A minimum of eight years’ experienceworking in an IT environment with a minimum of four years’ experience leading atechnical department.

Strong knowledge of PC hardware, Windowsoperating systems and software such as AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Outlook, Webdesign, hosting and GIS. Experience or familiaritywith ESRI tools.

Strong project leader skills for working with a diverse staff,contractors and consultants.

Knowledge of database design and software developmentprocess. Familiarity with MicrosoftAccess and SQL Server.

Knowledge of scanned image processing, storageand retrieval of documents.

Knowledge of audio-visual equipment.

Demonstrates proficiency withadministrative scripting, PowerShell and command line.

Proficient at switch and router commandline configuration.

Ability to learn new hardware/software quickly.

Must see the ‘big picture’ and be detailed-oriented with theability to quickly identify technical risks and design flaws.

Collaborative working skills and abilityto communicate successfully with employees at all levels.

Must have excellent organizational skillsand the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Must be a self-starter with stronginitiative and the ability to work independently.

Must be patient, energetic, creative andflexible as work demands.

Must present a good professional image indress, grooming and personal hygiene per the Cemetery’s dress code policy.

Ability to communicate effectively bothverbally and in writing with co-workers, Trustees and others.

Familiarity with automated timekeepingsystems such as ADP’s Workforce Now.

Valid driver’s license.

REQUIREDPHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to operate standard office equipment such as computers and mouse, telephones, photocopiers, fax machines, scanners. Must be able to access file cabinets and interior vaults.

Must be able to move within a normaloffice environment, accessing all records and equipment with ease.

Position requires prolonged periodsseatedand/or standing at a desk.

Must be able to move between desk, frontcounter, and all files.

Must be able to walk up and down stairs.

Must be able, using a stool as necessary,to reach high shelves containing files and supplies at any location within theoffice, including the vaults.
