JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Production Control position is responsible for scheduling machining centers for a CNC machine shop by use of computer scheduling software.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Reviews production plan to identify risks and communicate to department leaders.
- Plans inventory management technique to avoid any shortages and excesses.
- Plans and monitors material movement in production cycle to ensure continuous operations.
- Analyzes customer orders and establishes production schedules for timely delivery.
- Investigates production control problems, analyzes root causes, and derives solutions.
- Monitors equipment, material, and manpower requirements for each job order.
- Monitors the execution of job orders and adjusts production schedule for on-time delivery.
- Develops positive relationship with staffs and vendors to meet productivity goals.
- Negotiates job orders with customers based on equipment capacity and material availability.
- Contact customers to update expedite reports for on-time delivery.
- Analyzes current and backlog job orders and accordingly develops production plan and schedules.
- Works with Buyer and Plant Manager in identifying and resolving production planning problems.
- Schedules for outsourcing of production parts.
- Controls material distribution for production parts.
- Updates manufacturing software with correct due dates.
- Handles shipping and receiving occasionally.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years of experience in Production Control or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Past experience in a CNC machine shop environment a plus.
- Experience in Epicor manufacturing software a plus.
