Director Underwriting

Oregon Mutual Insurance Company, a regional carrier is the western states, offers a wonderful opportunity to perform, excel and grow in the insurance industry as the Director of Underwriting located at our McMinnville Oregon headquarters. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to lead our Underwriting Division, both Personal and Commercial lines. Responsible for leading the effort to achieve profitable policy and premium growth. Looking for a leader with the ability to develop strong relationships, particularly with independent agents and with other divisions. Build and maintain excellent teamwork and relationships with colleagues and particularly with marketing personnel. Be an advocate for ongoing customer experience initiatives. Ability to identify and distill marketplace opportunities and challenges and assist in developing corporate and strategic plans that attract and retain targeted customers within established profit and production goals. Candidates should have strong leadership characteristics, analytical skills, proven underwriting abilities and service improvement orientation. Minimum qualifications include but are not limited to: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and a minimum of 10 years’ experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the required skills. Must have demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others and proven track records of employee training and development. Proven ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, and to plan ahead 3-5 years. Commitment to Company values.
