The Defense group supports the Department of Defense (DoD) mission to keep our homeland and its citizens safe. We provide solutions to improve the Nation's defense by providing software, systems engineering, IT, training and logistics and fleet management solutions.

 

This position within the Defense group serves our Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division customer, in West Bethesda, MD.  We have a forty-year track record of providing specialized scientific and engineering expertise in ship research and development.  You would have the opportunity to “learn the ropes” from a team of talented engineers and scientists, while receiving a competitive salary and top-notch benefits including company-paid medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, annual bonus, and enhanced paid time off.

 


Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop software in LabVIEW programming environment for sensor acquisition and actuator control systems.
  • Design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions for onboard ship and submarine research.
  • Collaborate with equipment designers and hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of National Instruments data acquisition modules and LabVIEW software.
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Conduct Independent Verification and Validation of existing LabVIEW software at customer site in West Bethesda, MD.
  • Conduct testing with actual system hardware and document test results.
  • Some travel (< 20%) required to customer test sites for software system installation, checkout, operation, and troubleshooting

 

 Preferred Qualifications 

  • Minimum B.S. degree in Engineering, Science or Applied Math or closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience developing LabVIEW software.
  • Some electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience.
  • National Instruments certification in LabVIEW highly desirable.
  • Must be a US Citizen; DOD Secret Clearance preferred
