Remote Conventional Underwriter

Job Title: Remote Underwriter Job Location: REMOTE Salary: $75-$90k DOE, Benefits, 401k, etc, Requirements: 5+ Years U/W Exp.Top Reasons to Work with Us Keep it simple - work from home!What You Will Be Doing Underwrites all levels of complexity of mortgage loan applications and evaluates loans in order to maximize organizational profit and minimize risk or loss. May underwrite FHA/VA/USDA if the underwriter carries those credentials (incl. Conventional, Jumbo and/or other mtg. loan type). Able to manually underwrite loans and is not reliant on automated underwriting to make a sound credit decision. - Analyzes credit, income, assets, LTV/CLTVs in accordance with policies, procedures, and guidelines. Makes decisions on the creditworthiness of the borrower based on underwriting guidelines and within posted turn times. - Underwrite submitted loan files to agency and investor guidelines. - Reviews all property documentation (title, purchase agreement, flood cert., HOI etc.). - Assess the overall risk of each loan and issue underwriting decisions within posted turn times. - Stay current with all product guidelines of requirements. - Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Complete all required compliance training. Take responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.What You Need for this Position 5+ years of current underwriting experience: - Conventional Loans - Encompass experience - Extensive knowledge of FHA/VA/USDA and Jumbo programs, if underwriting these products - Excellent attention to detail - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Excellent analytical skills - Extensive knowledge of conforming underwriting programs - Excellent credit risk and self-employed analysis skills - Strong mathematical and computer skills (AUS systems and Encompass experience/knowledge a must) - Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment - Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team - Effective and responsive telephone etiquette - Willingness/ability to work overtime as requested by Manager when business needs require Education: - HS Diploma - GED Citizenship: - U.S. citizens - Green cardholdersWhat's In It for You - Vacation/PTO - Medical - Dental - Vision - Bonus - 401(k)So, if you are a Underwriter with experience, please apply today!
