Help save lives every day! Bloodworks is hiring a Research Coordinator in our Biological Products division. In this position, you will provide coordination for Bloodworks Bio projects involving research donors to include donor recruitment and enrollment, informed consent, sample accusation, processing and shipment, data entry and management in accordance with applicable protocols and standards. Please note, this is a termporary position with an intdeterminate duration. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain a professional relationship with research donors; ensuring their rights as research participants are protected; serve as a study participant advocate and research project informational resource. Coordinate and implement procedures to collect data from patient charts, medical records, interviews, questionnaires, diagnostic tests and other sources; code, evaluate and interpret collected data and prepare appropriate documentation; obtain blood samples, cultures, tissues and other specimens for laboratory analysis. Ensure compliance with protocol guidelines and requirements of regulatory agencies; identify problems and/or inconsistencies and monitor donors to include documentation and reporting of adverse events; recommend corrective action as appropriate. Assist in development and implementation of donor recruitment activities. Assist with preparation of study team and study site for site initiation visits, monitor visits, sponsor audits, regulatory audits and any other type of site visit requested by client or regulatory agency. Perform literature reviews and analysis, providing evidence based recommendations on research priorities and program needs. Collaborate with Bloodworks Bio team members and other Bloodworks Northwest departments to manage internal processes, documentation, and grant/budget information and reporting. Consult and collaborate with other Bloodworks Bio members to ensure that ongoing and new projects are aligned, supported and enhanced by the work in other areas of Bloodworks Northwest. Perform other duties as required. REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in biology science or health related field preferred or equivalent education and experience. Phlebotomy experience and current license to practice in WA preferred. Experience in handling confidential, sensitive information using appropriate discretion and with human subjects strongly recommended. Must have strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols as written. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. WORKING CONDITIONS Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional weekends, holidays, early morning and evening, or extended hours.
