This position under the supervision of the VP of Revenue Cycle and Managed Care is a management position responsible for billing through final resolution of patient accounts to maximize collectible revenue and minimize outstanding discharged receivables for all PIH Health systems. Provides daily direction to management of billing, data control, customer service, collection and follow-up activities; promotes billing compliance, ensures appropriate identification and processing of account write-offs, appropriate management of patient information, etc.   Provides timely feedback and education to appropriate departments, managers and staff. Works closely with Patient Registration and HIM to ensure that billable information is provided to Patient Accounting staff. Develops and maintains financial reports to Sensio management. Applies Lean Methodology to the revenue cycle.

  • Must be able to demonstrate sound decision making and prioritization skills.      

  • Must be able to teach.

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in hospital patient accounting management.

  • Extensive knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, third party billing, workers’ compensation, effective follow-up procedures, Fair Debt Collection Act, capitation and PPO contracts.

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to compliance principles
