The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Pega Developer to work in our Arlington, Virginia office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) mission.  In this mission we provide on-site support to develop IT solutions to the organizations business processes and assist users with system issues. The new hire will work as part of a Eighteen person development team to create and manage business system applications for a USAF customer.  The team is in the process of designing and building new custom applications to manage federal research grants based off current systems.  The new applications are being developed as part of an enterprise effort using the Pega platform.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Applicants must be able to plan, conduct, and coordinate web-application activities using a variety of platforms.  
  • Candidates will design, develop, document, test, and debug software that contains logical solutions to business/mission processes or problems.  
  • Applicants will build software solutions that meet user requirements and the team derived “Definition of Done” using Agile/Scrum development standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.  
  • Applicants should be able to correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, compile development documentation, analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent and evaluate programming techniques.  
  • Solutions should be imaginative, thorough, practical and consistent with organization objectives.  
  • Applicants must possess a team first and flexible working mentality and be able to manage multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal working skills with both customers and team members are required. 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are also required. 
  • The ability to understand and follow the Agile Development Scrum model and to develop business system solutions using Pegasystems (i.e. Pega) software are essential elements of the position. 
  • Experience with BPM / Business Process Management.


Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of software development experience or a Master’s degree with 2+ years of software development experience.
  • 1 year of specialized Pega software development with version 7.4.x.
  • Candidates must be US citizens and already have or be able to obtain a NACI (i.e. DOD Public Trust). 
  • Experience with JavaScript and HTML.
  • Must possess both a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) and a Pega Certified System Architect (CSA) certification or obtain them within 6 months of the start date. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with XML.
  • CA Technologies Clarity Grants 15.x.
  • OpenText Content Management Server 10.5.x with emphasis on Livelink workflows. 
  • Any work with data analytics/business intelligence tools. (i.e. Tableau, Qlik)  
  • Experience with Agile Development techniques to include Scrum.
