Area: 378810 - ER-M Nursing
Shift: 12 hour shifts (.9 FTE ) / Day shift, Every Other Weekend Required

Emergency Room Technician Job Summary:

The Emergency Room Technician assists and augments the registered nursing staff in providing high quality patient care in the Emergency Room. The ERT must demonstrate the expertise and competency of all paramedic skills in accordance with Illinois State law.

Emergency Room Technician Required Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have current CPR training recognized by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • ACLS/PALS certification - Preferred
  • EMT-B required
  • EMT-P - Preferred
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform a variety of patient assistance without direct supervision.
  • Ability to interact effectively with patients, clinical staff, and the general public.

In this role, we anticipate that you will generally work approximately 36 hours per week. We anticipate that you will generally be scheduled to work the first shift, from approximately 7:00am-7:00pm and won’t be scheduled for on-call shifts. We anticipate you will be scheduled to work 100% at the Hyde Park campus. The days of the week that you are scheduled will vary depending on the week, but we anticipate that you will be scheduled to work on weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday) only every other week.
