Job Duties: This application encompasses general farm labor and labor for the raising of apples, cherries and pears and the harvest of apples and pears. All other duties assigned under this order will be those duties of Farm Worker and Laborer Diversified Crops, under the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment Statistics Standard Occupational Classification Code45-2092. Workers with a valid driver license and are insurable may also drive vehicles to transport crop, equipment and workers. Workers who drive may be offered additional hours. Fruit Farm Labor and Harvest job description encompasses the growing and harvest of apples. The worker will perform duties on a motorized platform, from the ground and/ or utilizing a ladder. The worker must possess the ability to pick-up and handle a 10 -12 ft. orchard ladder weighing up to 60 lbs. The anticipated hours listed represent the normal work schedule. Due to the nature of these crops, weather, and the requirement to send crops to customers when needed, it is the prevailing practice to work more or different hours than those listed. When the number of hours for a week exceeds the number listed, the worker may be offered, but not required, to work more hours. Full Growing Season Commitment: The job offered requires that the worker be available for work every day that work is available for the full period of employment. The worker agrees to be available for work and perform the assigned work for the assigned employer whenever work is available through the full period of employment. The employer will furnish, without charge, all tools, supplies and personal protective equipment required in the performance of the specified work. Employer provided housing/kitchen facilities are available for employees who are unable to reasonably return to their place of residence the same day. Transportation costs to the job site for domestic workers from outside the local commuting distance of the job site will be reimbursed by the employer after 50% of the contract period. Transportation costs from the job site to the workers home will be provided to those domestic workers that complete the entire contract period. Employer guarantees to offer employment for the hourly equivalent of 3/4 or 75% of the workdays of the work contract beginning with the first day of work.
