Boeing is seeking Software Integration Engineers for the opportunity to develop and deploy our newest products.  Our work centers on the development of the next generation of Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) systems for the Defense, Intelligence Community and allied partners.  These systems are deployed to aircraft, ships, submarines and ground mobile vehicles for purposes of intercepting and exploiting signals in the radio frequency environment. These Level 5 positions will be located in Fairfax, VA.

Position Responsibilities

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Work hands-on with the software build, deployment and final configuration for various hardware platforms
  • Manage a single software baseline that is deployed across multiple hardware baselines and a range of platforms
  • Understand the environment for how the software is developed while maintaining a system level perspective for delivering end-to-end capabilities that meet operator needs
  • Thrive in a dynamic environment while engaging with multiple software development teams to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Develop and maintain network topology and configuration
  • Support system-level cybersecurity assessments and patching as necessary

Work Authorization:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, computer science or related technical domain
  • 9 or more years of experience working in a Linux / Unix command line environment
  • 5 or more years of experience in a customer facing role
  • Demonstrated strong analytic and problem solving skills
  • Ability to translate operator needs and requirements into subsystem level capabilities
  • Collaborative teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to work across internal and external organizations
  • Ability to train and mentor junior engineers
  • Willing and able to obtain a Top Secret / SCI U.S. Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • Leadership experience inside of an engineering organization
  • Experience with presenting technical content to large groups, such as PDR, CDR or TRR
  • Experience and carrying the output of subsystem Agile development teams to completed system level tests
  • Ability to control, build and release code using GIT and the Atlassian tool stack
  • Experience in shell scripting
  • Experience with internet routing protocols and concepts
  • Understanding of computer science fundamentals and distributed systems
  • Demonstrated experience managing networks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to interact efficiently with peers and customers
  • Ability to manage the cost and schedule parameters of the development activity
  • Experience with Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) or related systems
  • Current Top Secret / SCI U.S. Security Clearance

Typical Education / Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

These positions will be located in Fairfax, VA and offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Applicants must reside in the area or be willing to relocate for this opportunity.
