Job Summary Zimmer Biomet Connected Health is building digital health tools to improve the care experience for patients, surgeons, and clinicians in musculoskeletal health. We are looking for a motivated & energetic product development professional who is passionate about software and has experience with web and mobile app technologies. They will be responsible for managing functional requirements for existing products and helping envision new products for the musculoskeletal market. The ideal candidate thinks like a product manager but acts like an engineer; translating a product vision into detailed requirements that are clearly implementable by the software engineering team. They will focus on requirements engineering – developing user needs and systems engineering – developing system/software requirements. Principal Duties and Responsibilities The candidate will be responsible for evaluating the technical requirements when crafting the user journey through story mapping and creating detailed requirements through user stories and acceptance criteria. The candidate can clearly articulate the link between product decisions and business outcomes. Initiate the product development process based on roadmaps and UX designs as inputs. Must be able to decompose these into technical & architectural requirements that can be tracked through build, testing, and validation. Responsible for documenting the software architecture requirements for a cloud-based digital health platform with web and mobile user interface front end UIs and a data analytics backend. Responsible for defining software requirements so that they fulfill the demands of a formal quality management system (QMS) and are traceable across the application lifecycle. Drive a FDA quality system development culture and support it across the product lifecycle; rolling up your sleeves to document where necessary and mentor where appropriate. Incorporate relational database concepts, client-server concepts, and cloud hosting concepts into designs; craft business solutions leveraging best practices from these. Work across boundaries both geographic and functional to participate with and help knit together a large team of software & medical device professionals. The work team will include people from quality, regulatory, legal, compliance, product, engineering, operations, implementations, and others. Expected Areas of Competence Experienced in software scalability, reliability, extensibility, and usability. Must be able to design functional software requirements that enables them and deliver a vision within an agile, fast moving environment. Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands and viewpoints. Using these skills, the candidate will help create a balance between project scope, timeframe, and resources. Attention to detail and excellent oral and written communication skills. Flexibility with short term priorities while keeping project scope and timeline in mind. Relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Ability to work both alone and in rapid work teams under periodic supervision. Knowledge of agile software development aligned with a quality management system; preferred. Education/Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a computer science, engineering, or business. 1+ years of experience in building software and creating user needs and architecture/software requirements preferably in the medical device industry. Certification: SAFe of SCRUM Alliance preferred. Skilled in Agile/SCRUM methodologies and experience in leading complex projects using Agile and Waterfall methodologies. A thorough understanding of web concepts and technologies such as HTML, CSS, Javascript frameworks, XML, RDBS and responsive design. Experience with designing mobile web and mobile app solutions. Experience with at least one requirements management tool such as Atlassian Jira or CodeBeamer.
