JOB TITLE: Dental Technician
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Lab
REPORTS TO: Production Manager
SUPERVISES: None
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
JOB SUMMARY:
As a technician with a growing and profitable lab, the technician would be responsible to both produce devices. The individual will work alongside their team to produce occlusal guards, tmj splints, sleep apnea devices and other appliances. They will be the gold standard of quality and productivity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and fabricate occlusal guards, tmj, orthodontic, sleep apnea and other appliances.
- Wire bending, fitting bands, brackets and attachments, re-setting teeth, acrylic processing, trimming and finishing, laser welding, polishing, etc.
- Ensures dentist instructions are clearly understood before fabrication.
- Ensures quality of model work before fabrication of device.
- Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Ensuring proper preventative maintenance of equipment and updating documentation
- Proactively ensures that equipment and tools are in good working condition
MINIMUM DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· H.S. Diploma or equivalent
· 3 years minimum working in a dental laboratory
· Strong knowledge of oral anatomy
· Understanding of Tmj, sleep apnea and other appliances a plus
· Experience with orthodontics and removable a plus.
