Health Education Coordinator - Full-time / Part-time

1. Summary of Responsibilities

A member of Heart Vascular & Leg Center who works with the physicians and other providers delivering patient education under the direct supervision of the physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant.  Member will assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing health education related to cardiovascular for community events. Full-time position with additional hours including possible evenings and weekends.

1. Qualifications

1. 1. A High School graduate or equivalent, and has completed all of the following criteria:
      1. 1. 1. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent
            2. Extern from an accredited MA school or equivalent clinical training
            3. 3-5 years medical office experience
            4. 1 year or more Marketing and/or Health education experience
   2. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

1. Skills and Competencies

1. 1. The ability to teach and provide instruction.
   2. Excellent communication skills. Listening and speaking skills.
   3. Interpersonal skills: able to understand non-verbal cues.
   4. Computer skills: internet, Microsoft Office programs

1. Responsibilities

1. 1. Consult with physicians and staff regarding related health education services.
   2. Present information effectively to diverse audiences.
   3. Must possess a high degree of accuracy for the performance of all tasks
