CNA for Ascension at Home - Full Time

Ascension at Home St. Thomas in Nashville has a need for a Certified Nursing Assistant.  This position is responsible for providing personal care for the patient in the home under the direction, instruction and supervision of the Registered Nurse.

Qualifications:

• Completion of the ninth grade in school
• Successful completion of a CNA training program
• Successful completion of the written and on-site HomeCare Aide Competency Evaluation prior to performing patient care independently.

Responsibilities:

• Provides personal care for the patient which may include bathing, oral hygiene, care of the skin, hair and dressing
• Assists with toileting
• Assists with transfers, ambulation and repositioning including the use of equipment when needed
• Dressing changes which do not require the skills of a licensed nurse
• Assists with medications which are ordinarily self-administered and do not require the skills of a licensed nurse to be provided safely and effectively.
• Assists with prescribed exercises after adequate instruction and supervision has been given by appropriate professional personnel 
• Other duties as assigned by the Registered Nurse
