Summary:

The CNC Machinist will produce a variety of high precision, high quality components required for our machine tools and automation products.  This work, conducted in a bright, temperature-controlled environment, utilizes updated equipment and the most up-to-date technology. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plans and completes setups from detailed manufacturing drawings.
  • Sets up and operates horizontal CNC milling equipment in a short run, close tolerance (.0005”) environment.
  • Able to read and interpret CAM posted G and M code and modify as needed on a variety of machine controls.
  • Selects appropriate tooling based on materials and tolerances.
  • Operates machines to produce high precision, low volume parts, calculating proper SFM and feeds.
  • Safely operates overhead cranes and large part handling (up to 16,000#).
  • Inspect work to ensure proper specifications and very close tolerances are met
  • Communicates with others in department to coordinate downstream operations of specialized part.
  • ·Remains current with manufacturing technologies available to improve productivity (tooling, work holding, programming, workflows, etc.).

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be comfortable working with close tolerances (.0005”).
  • 2+ years of experience setup and operation of horizontal machining centers, boring bars, 5-axis machining centers and/or double column machining centers.
  • Working knowledge of Okuma, Toshiba or Fanuc controls and machine operation required.
  • Innovative and forward thinking with a continuous improvement mindset.
