Job Description
This Quote Associate is responsible for generating, tracking and communicating quoting activities for new and existing customers.
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
Prepares work to be estimated by gathering all documents necessary such as drawings, Bill of Materials, specifications, and related documents. Identifies labor and material necessary to build assembly and computes costs. Facilitates all quoting activities, approving inputs, ensuring manufacturability, correcting documentation, quality and manufacturing issues and ensures proper tooling will be used on project. The ideal candidate should have a thorough knowledge and working background in cable assembly manufacturing, component level technical understanding and have excellent customer service skills and supplier relations skills including negotiating and follow-up. Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information and relays any issues holding up the quote to Manager, Sales and/or Customer. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and if quoting activity is slow, will help in other departments. Communication and teamwork are highly valued within the company as well as the push for continual improvement

• Electronics manufacturing process knowledge
• Responsible for ensuring quality and accuracy of work product
• Takes independent action to gather ideas and gain consensus with cross-functional teams on process improvement recommendations.
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office products (proficient in Excel and Word)
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines.
• Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers
• Ability to calculate and do basic interpretation of all key business metrics.
• Provide interpretation of reports/results to users.
• Generates reports with job-related software.
• Self-motivated and works well with others
• Thorough understanding of the quality management system. (ISO)
• Good understanding and reading of cable assembly drawings and tooling required to build cables
Physical Demands:
• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data
• Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.)
• Occasional overnight travel may be required
Experience:
• One to two years of experience of cable assembly in a Contract manufacturing company.
• Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings and customer specifications.
Education:
• Bachelor degree in related field, OR consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience
