Job Description
Oversees the accounts payable process under the direction of the Controller in a busy law firm. Performs accounting functions in accordance with prescribed accounting procedures, including emphasis on Invoice Management Process. and Analysis. Scan all invoices to the shared drive, Develop tracking system to manage invoice approval, Route all case related invoices to approving attorney or manager, Review invoices after approval for case information, Input all data to Accounting System, Reconcile vendor statements, Process checks and submit for signature, Prepare all expert checks when case closes and cost confirmations for mediations and arbitrations. Other responsibilities include cross training on Payroll Process, HR and Insurance Benefits, and training on Administration vendors and invoice process.
Strong organizational skills to take charge of accounting activities with the ability to prioritize assignments according to importance of task. Ability to exercise accurate professional judgment and to apply proper ethical standards according to GAAP. Ability to keep confidential matters confidential. Good oral and written communication skills and social skills for interacting with peers and other professionals. Ability to simultaneously handle numerous assignments and people on a daily basis. Ability to work independently and produce accurate work product. Excellent skills in Microsoft Office are mandatory, especially spreadsheet expertise in Excel.
