Job Description

As a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Specialist, you lead the strategy and optimization of your client’s search engine optimization programs. You perform strategic planning, performance analysis, testing, and reporting on all assigned campaigns. You provide an excellent client experience, including ongoing communication and education, and in-person meetings with high value clients at least once per year. You thrive in a cross-functional team environment and understand how your decisions impact both your clients and Go Local. You strive to increase the value of your client portfolio through additional revenue from current accounts and assisting the agency to obtain new accounts. Your ability to provide unique solutions for both your clients and the agency will produce great results! 

Job Expectations

  • Manage the SEO product lifecycle from beginning to end

  • Manage and be a point of contact for your assigned roster of clients 

  • Identify and implement SEO tactics and best practices 

  • Identify and implement User Experience and Accessibility best practices 

  • Monitor short-term and long-term optimization strategy and development of product performance

  • Ensure programs are properly positioned with our clients

  • Formulate metrics and interpret monthly reporting to measure agency and client success

  • Conduct ongoing professional research and education, staying up-to-date on industry trends 

  • Effectively communicate information internally to the appropriate product teams

  • Support the New Business and Strategy Departments with sales, organic growth, and client retention 

  • Delegate tasks to the SEO Coordinator when appropriate 

Job Qualifications 

  • Must demonstrate a proven track record of the ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task in a flexible and fast-paced environment to effectively meet deadlines

  • Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills with a deep understanding of the English language (spelling, grammar, and vocabulary) 

  • Must demonstrate strong presentation skills

  • Must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate both technical and non-technical information between internal product teams and external clients

  • Must demonstrate strategic and creative thinking when solving problems

  • Must demonstrate a basic understanding of content management systems (WordPress experience preferred)

  • Must demonstrate a strong understanding of User Experience and technical SEO Requirements 

  • Must demonstrate an advanced understanding of Screaming Frog, Google Analytics, Search Console, Tag Manager, and Bing Webmasters 

  • Must demonstrate an understanding of Local SEO and Content Marketing

  • Must demonstrate a basic understanding of Paid Search and Social Media Marketing 

  • Must demonstrate proficient skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

Required Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, English, Communication, or another related field, or equivalent experience 

  • Google Analytics Certified 

  • 2-4 years of SEO experience 

  • 1+ years of customer service/consulting experience 

Travel

  • Up to 5%
