Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Trainer assesses company-wide developmental needs, creates training materials and administers and tracks the training to employees at all levels within the organization. 

Job Duties:

The list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  1. Conduct company-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.
  2. Partner with internal or external subject matter experts in the development, modification, facilitation or delivery of training programs.
  3. Develop and maintain training matrix for all new and current employees based on job assessments; and assure all initial and recurrent training is completed.
  4. Monitor regulatory requirements for employee training and competence to ensure that all requirements are met, tracked and documented.
  5. Assists with the development and implementation of new employee orientation.
  6. Ensure employee training is recorded and current.
  7. Select and assign internal trainers or vendors to conduct training.
  8. Deliver “train the trainer” programs for department and job specific trainers as needed.
  9. Monitor costs of training, ensuring optimal return on investment.
  10. Remain current with changing policies, technologies, and services for training delivery.
  11. Schedule training sessions within individual training programs ensuring facility set up, audiovisual setup and employee notifications.
  12. Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in related field required, Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • 2-5 years of training and development experience in a manufacturing environment desired
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and a developed competency to influence and to lead and manage others.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to deliver effective training and presentations at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong meeting facilitation skills.
  • Proven computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office products, ability to develop instructional content in a variety of software packages and media tools.
  • Strong report writing, grammar and presentation skills.
  • Detail oriented and self-directed with demonstrated organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
