Salary Range: $48.94 - $62.44
Summary of Duties: The Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner administers routine respiratory therapy procedures to patients of all ages in all areas of hospital as prescribed by a physician, and under the direction of the Director or Shift Leader. Performs other related duties as assigned, including EKG.
Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Graduate of an accredited JRCRTE/AMA-approved two (2) year Respiratory Therapy program preferred. Associate's degree preferred.
Licensure/Certification Requirements: Required: Licensed (RCP) by the Respiratory Care Board of the Department of Consumer Affairs, State of California. Must provide the department with a copy of valid RCP license initially, and upon subsequent renewal and/or change of status. Required certification in at least Basic Life Support, present and maintain valid card, and provide department with a copy for our records. Actively Registered (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NMRC) is required. Desired: Advance Cardiac Life Support, NRP, PALS, CPFT encouraged and preferred.
Experience Requirements: Required five (5) years experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner 2 (Certified), and five (5) years experience in specialty (e.g. Intensive Care, Critical Care, Pulmonary Function Testing, Neonatal and Pediatric Respiratory Care) immediately prior to application.
Special Skills or Abilities: Knowledge of normal and abnormal physiology related to respiratory system. Understanding of indications, appropriateness, contraindications, side effects of medications and treatment techniques required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as effective time management skills required. Ability to organize work, set priorities, and perform detailed work.
