90 DAY TEMPORARY POSITION
The Accounting Clerk II will assist the Chief Financial Officer in the maintenance of a systematic and up-to-date record of accounts, payroll records, journals, agency forms, and other related documents. This position will perform clerical duties necessary to the operation of the agency, i.e., typing, filing, posting, inputting on the computer, reconciling records and forms, and operating office machines. This position is under the direct supervision of the Chief Financial Officer.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Typical responsibilities and duties of the Accounting Clerk II include, but are not limited to:
· Assist in the maintenance of a double entry fiscal system, including payroll, cash receipts, accounts payable and posting to the journals through the financial statements.
· Maintains the petty cash account including dispensing petty cash and making petty cash receipts.
· Post payments from cash receipts journal to individual client accounts.
· Monitor and reconcile time sheets, and sign-in sheets; includes figuring time worked and keeping vacation, sick leave, holiday, and overtime hours. Issues a report on time off to the Chief Executive Officer.
· Issues new time and attendance sheets and productivity forms to employees.
· Figures productive time and prepares recap for the Chief Executive Officer.
· Assists in inventory control and audits.
· Prepare and file correspondence as required.
· Post to all journals as necessary.
· Accomplish special projects as requested by the Chief Financial Officer or the Chief Executive Officer.
· Helps maintain personnel files.
· Input information into the computer when necessary.
· Occasional travel to make bank deposits.
· Perform any additional duties as deemed necessary for the efficient operation of the agency.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED. Completion of at least 60 quarter hours (or equivalent) of bookkeeping, accounting, or college level coursework in a closely related field. Twelve (12) months of fiscal records maintenance or clerical experience. Typing speed of 45 WPM is desirable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Able to utilize Excel and similar accounting programs. Lift 15 pounds. Will be required to drive an automobile.
