The Payroll Associate is responsible for the end-to-end processing of payroll for employees in the US and Canada. The Payroll Associate maintains the accuracy of the payroll, resolves payroll problems, audits and reviews summaries, prepares various payroll documents. The job requires strong payroll knowledge, attention to detail, collaboration and leadership skills.

What You'll Do

  • Research payroll problem areas and review current procedures to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance
  • Produce, review and reconcile payroll audit reports
  • Ensure that all emails and tickets on our ServiceNow ticketing system are responded to within the 24 hour Service Level Agreement
  • Run Payroll Imports and Reports on ad hoc and periodic basis
  • Escalate any issues to Payroll Manager on a timely basis
  • Data entry of payroll transactions in Workday payroll application
  • Provide support and resolution on payroll issues to employees via email, ServiceNow and telephone
  • Calculate and complete manuals checks
  • Respond to associate and manager inquiries on a day to day basis by handling payroll related issues
  • Prepare payroll records for year-end W2 processing
  • Respond to requests for wage and employment verifications
  • Work closely with Payroll Manager to resolve any tax issues
  • Provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff

 

What you'll Need

  • Fundamental Payroll Certification(FPC) preferred
  • 2+ years related payroll experience
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel required
  • Automated payroll experience, working knowledge of Workday HRMS payroll system
  • Knowledge of ADP working knowledge of payroll procedures and federal, state, and local regulations
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong MS Excel skills including experience with pivot tables and v-lookups
  • Detail oriented, organized, conscientious, possesses strong written/verbal communication skills, and has the ability to research and resolve payroll issues as warranted
  • Effective leadership skills that can energize multi-disciplined work teams to respond to business needs
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills, strong project management skills, with experience in organizing, planning and executing projects
  • Individual must practice strict confidentiality, regarding Payroll & Human Resources information
